Tehran, IRNA – An Iranian judiciary official has emphasized that the Islamic Republic will pursue legal actions at international courts in response to an Israeli regime airstrike last week on the Iranian consulate in Syria's Damascus that killed a number of a Iranian military commanders.

Masoud Setayeshi, the spokesperson for Iran's Judiciary, said in a weekly press briefing on Tuesday that the Zionist regime's assassination of Iranian commanders and military advisors in a diplomatic mission was in line with the brutal nature of the regime.

He underscored that the legal actions at international courts will be pursued concurrent with Iran’s military response to the savage act.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran will file a lawsuit with international tribunals against the Zionist regime concerning last Monday’s deadly attack on the Iranian consulate in Damascus, the judiciary official noted.

He went on to say that the Iranian judiciary is also responsible for pursuing international lawsuits through the Attorney General's office.
