Zabib made the remarks while speaking at the roundtable conference on the theme “Geopolitical Dimensions of the Palestinian Issue” held at Complutense University of Madrid on the occasion of International Quds Day.
The unprecedented loss of human lives and destruction of infrastructure in Gaza have left no room for explanation except what one can visualize about the situation on the ground through the eyes of the media, the Iranian envoy said as quoted by the IRNA reporter.
The Iranian envoy also touched on the West’s double standards when it comes to the issue of Palestine.
Zabib said that some of the consequences of the war on Gaza that became implicit are the proof of the return of the issue of Palestine to the world agenda, the proof of America's participation in the Israeli crimes and the loss of Washington’s role as a mediator in the Palestinian issue, exposing the West’s human rights claims, and the proof of the failure of the idea of imposing foreign will on the Palestinian nation.
The conference was also addressed by two political science professors of the university, Ahmed Abu Zubaydah, a Palestinian journalist, Hossein Abdul Wahab, the Palestinian ambassador.
Professor Diaz, during the speech, rejected the notion that the war on Gaza is between Israel and Palestine or between the Israeli army and the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas but called it a war between the occupying force and the occupied nation. Pablo Sapag, another professor in political science explained the propaganda tactics of the Zionist regime.
The Palestinian ambassador to Spain, for his part, explained America's deception and double standard regarding the Palestinian issue, saying Washington’s policy on the Palestinian issue has reached an unprecedented low level.
On Friday evening, a ceremony to mark International Quds Day was also held with the presence of Spanish, Arab and Iranian enthusiasts at the Ahl al-Bayt (AS) Cultural Institute in Madrid, where the Iranian ambassador delivered a speech.
