Tehran, IRNA - Secretary-General of the Lebanese Resistance movement Hezbollah Sayyid Hassan Nasrallah has praised the martyred Iranian General Mohammad Reza Zahedi for his role in the growth of the Resistance forces in the region.

Nasrallah delivered a televised speech at the International Quds Day ceremony in Beirut on Friday.

At the start of his speech, he lauded martyrs who fell all the way to Al-Quds on all fronts across Palestine, Lebanon, Yemen, Syria, Iran and Iraq.

Nasrallah offered condolences over the martyrdom of top IRGC generals who were martyred earlier this week in the Israeli aggression on Iranian consulate in Syria’s Damascus.

"Top IRGC general Mohammad Reza Zahedi had favor upon Hezbollah as he contributed to the development of resistance in Lebanon," Hezbollah secretary-general said.

"Imam Khomenini’s stance towards Al-Quds was clear and firm," he added about late Iranian founder of the Islamic Revolution who named the last Friday of the holy month of Ramadan each year the Quds Day.

'Iran’s stance regarding Al-Quds and Palestine is one of the prominent causes behind the wars which were waged against the Islamic Republic," he said.

"The Islamic Republic offered enormous sacrifices on economic, political and security levels over its stance regarding Palestine," he added.

"The US has repeatedly voiced desire to hold talks with Iran but the Islamic Republic was reluctant," Nasrallah said, adding that "Iran has not compromised, nor will it in the future on the regional issues."

"Some are in denial about the fact that ‘Israel’ has been defeated," Hezbollah's chief said.

"Relations with Iran is a source of pride, those who must feel ashamed are those who seek to normalize ties with ‘Israel’," he continued.

"International Al-Quds Day is different this year as it comes six months after Operation Al-Aqsa Storm," launched by Hamas and the other Palestinian Resistance groups.

"Operation Al-Aqsa Storm is a historical event that has posed great threat to the survival of the Zionist entity," he continued.

"Six months following the war, Netanyahu, Gallant and other Israeli officials are still out of their mind," he added.

"Six months on the war, Netanyahu is neither capable to destroy Hamas nor capable to release the captives held in Gaza," he said, adding that "Israeli atrocities in Gaza are out of failure and lack of options".

"The Israeli enemy has no idea about the post-war scenario in Gaza, Netanyahu has no political horizon to solve Israeli internal problems," the Hezbollah's leader further said.

"Lebanon front won’t be closed as it is highly linked to Gaza, this is a firm decision," Nasrallah further declared.

"Netanyahu has no choice but to stop the war, and this is a mere defeat," he stressed, adding, "When we fight in the support fronts across Lebanon, Yemen, and Iraq we fight with great faith in victory."

"Great victory awaiting Axis of Resistance," Nasrallah said.

He went on to point to the Monday Israeli attack on Iran's consulate in Damascus in Syria, saying that "Iran’s retaliation to the Israeli strike on Syria consulate is inevitable".

"The folly committed by Netanyahu through targeting the Iranian consulate in Syria will hopefully lead to end this battle and emerge victorious," he said.

"The Resistance in Lebanon is fully ready and our morale is in large sense," he added, stressing that "we are fighting in a battle that will write the history of the region".

"The Resistance in Lebanon doesn’t fear war, we are fully ready to engage in a war that the enemy will regret," the Hezbollah leader declared.

"The enemy knows well what a war with Lebanon means, if they want war then they are welcome," he asserted.

"We have not used our major weapons yet," he continued, concluding that, "We will proceed in the battle until victory."
