Tehran, IRNA – Ziyad al-Nakhalah, the leader of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad, and Abu Fadak Al-Mohammedawi, the chief of staff of Iraq's Hashd al-Shaabi have participated in the marches in the Iranian capital to mark World Quds Day.

Quds Day rallies began all across Iran earlier today to show support for the oppressed Palestinian people in the face of the Zionist occupation and brutalities.

World Quds Day rallies are of key significance this year as the Zionist regime is carrying out a major invasion of the besieged Gaza Strip which has left around 33,000 civilian people killed since it began about six months ago.

Concurrent with the rallies in the Iranian capital, the funeral procession of the martyrs of an April 1 Zionist regime's attack on Iran’s consulate in Damascus was also held in downtown Tehran.

Speaking on the sidelines of the marches, Abu Fadak stressed that Gaza will emerge victorious, adding that “blood will defeat the sword”.

He also referred to a Monday attack by the Zionist regime on the Iranian consulate in Damascus where seven Iranian military advisors were martyred and said that he is in Tehran to condole with the Iranian nation, the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps, and Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei.

He termed the Zionist attack on the Iranian consulate as suicide for Israel.
