The meeting took place on Thursday as part of Haniyeh’s visit to Tehran, and Ghalibaf received the Hamas chief in Baharestan, the compound of the Iranian parliament.
The senior Hamas official and his accompanying delegation have also already been received by Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei and Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi during the visit.
Earlier on Wednesday, Ali Akbar Ahmadian, the representative of the Supreme Leader and the Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council, met with Haniyeh and Ziyad al-Nakhalah, the secretary general of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad Movement, along with the accompanying delegation.
Haniyeh arrived in Tehran on Tuesday and was received by Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian.
