Tehran, IRNA - An academic staff of Sharif University of Technology and an advisor to the Iranian Minister Finance and Economic Affairs has been appointed as the country’s representative to the World Bank.

Ali Maleki, the current head of the Strategic Planning and Resource Development Center of Sharif University will represent his country at the world’s top financial institution, with its headquarters at Washington DC, according to a report from IRNA’s Science and Education section.

Maleki received a doctorate degree in public policy from the School of Social and Political Sciences of the University of Edinburgh, the United Kingdom, and completed Master of Business Administration (MBA) majoring in technology management from the School of Management and Economics at Sharif University of Technology.

He previously steered many institutes and foundations of high repute as director or member such as the Strategic Center and the Policy Research Institute of Sharif University apart from being engaged in a number of academic projects and scientific researches.

Ali Ardalan, Farhad Nili and Mojtaba Khalesi have been among Iran's representatives at  the World Bank in recent years.

Participating in world summits, using economic capacities, as well as educational and research interactions, are some of the duties of Iranian representatives in this international financial institution.
