During the Asian Cooperation Dialogue (ACD) meeting, several ambassadors from different countries traveled to Yazd, central Iran. As part of their visit, they explored the Zarch kariz, which is over one thousand years old and stretches for 71 kilometers — making it the longest of its kind in the world. Kariz, or qanat, is a remarkable underground aqueduct system that was invented by ancient Iranians about 3,000 years ago.
