Damascus, IRNA- Syrian and Russian fighter jets in a joint operation have pounded the positions of terrorist groups in the northwestern provinces of Idlib and Latakia.

According to our correspondent in Damascus, a Syrian source said that these airstrikes targeted four terrorist hideouts belonging to Al-Nusrah Front (Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham) in the west of Idlib and its affiliated Hizb al-Turkestani terror group in the northeast of Latakia.

The same source also reported the killing of 9 people, most of them from East Asian countries, in the joint aerial raids, and also told about the destruction of the terrorists' drone and missile production workshop.

Recently, the Syrian army also carried out raids on the positions of terrorist groups in the Ghab Plain in the northwest of Hama province, killing 3 terrorists and injuring several of them.

The Syrian and Russian armies often conduct joint operations against terrorist groups operating in the north and northwest of Syria.

The Syrian Defense Ministry, in a statement, recently announced a joint operation with the Russian air force on Idlib, in response to attacks by Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham terror group in Hama and Latakia in the past.
