Islamabad, IRNA – Pakistan has announced that it has successfully dismantled a human trafficking gang in cooperation with the Islamic Republic of Iran.

According to an official statement released by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) of Pakistan on Wednesday, in coordination with the liaison officer office of the FIA in Tehran and related Iranian entities, the human trafficking network from Pakistan to Iran was dismantled.

Following the effective cooperation between the two countries, a key element of the Pakistani human trafficking gang was arrested in Iran. It added after an investigation, three other accomplices were arrested in Pakistan.

Iranian security forces have managed to free two Pakistani nationals held hostage by Pakistani human trafficking gangs, and efforts are continuing to secure the release of the third Pakistani national.

The statement added that the measures would continue to identify other perpetrators involved in human trafficking in Pakistan.
