Geneva, IRNA – Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian has said that the Americans have to stop hypocrisy.

Speaking to reporters after a meeting in Geneva on Tuesday with his Egyptian counterpart, Amirabdollahian said that the Americans cannot demand the de-escalation of war on the one hand which he believed would further encourage Netanyahu to continue with his genocide in Gaza and call for security in the Red Sea and other sensitive parts of the region on the other hand.

He said that he and the Egyptian foreign minister had agreed on practical measures to normalize relations between the two countries.

Everything is making good progress, the Iranian foreign minister said, expressing hope that Tehran and Cairo will be able to take steps forward in the near future.

He said that they also discussed ways for the dispatch of Iranian humanitarian supplies to Gaza and finding political solutions to the ongoing war and genocide in the Palestinian territory.
