According to IRNA's correspondent from Geneva, Amirabdollahian and Valtonen met and exchanged views on bilateral and multilateral issues on the sidelines of the 55th meeting of the United Nations Human Rights Council in the Swiss city on Tuesday.
The top Iranian diplomat congratulated Finland for holding of the successful presidential elections and expressed Tehran’s readiness for a joint roadmap to improve the relations between the two countries.
He pointed out some commonalities for bilateral cooperation, including between knowledge-based companies as well as in the field of agriculture.
Amiabdollahian also discussed the Gaza crisis where 70% of those killed in the Israeli genocidal campaign are women and children.
Valtonen, for her part, expressed satisfaction with the meeting and thanked Amirabdollahian for inviting her to visit Iran.
She also welcomed the continuation of dialogue with the Islamic Republic in areas of common interest.
On Gaza, the top Finnish diplomat described the alarming humanitarian situation there as a common concern of the two countries and stressed the need for continuing efforts to prevent a human tragedy.
