Tehran, IRNA - Iranian security forces have arrested a member of the Sipah-e-Sahaba (SSP), a banned militant organization based in Pakistan, in the Persian Gulf island of Qeshm in southern Iran, a security source said.

The security source told IRNA on condition of anonymity that the individual, identified as Mohammad Abrar, was apprehended on Thursday in one of Qeshm’s villages following an intelligence operation by the Police Intelligence Organization of Iran.

Additionally, the police information center in Hormuzgan Province also announced on Sunday that another individual affiliated with the SSP was arrested on charges of anti-Shia terrorist activities in Bandar Abbas.

The terrorist has undergone bomb-making training in Pakistan, it said.
