The Iranian official made the announcement during his speech at the 86th session of the Inland Transport Committee, affiliated to the UN. The session was held in Geneva, Switzerland, on February 20-23.
Amani said that Iran is ready to help regional countries' access high seas via different kinds of routes on Iranian territory in a bid to help in the global efforts aimed at developing international transport, according to a Sunday IRNA report citing the Ministry of Road and Urban Development.
He also said that inland transport plays a key role in economic development and therefore measures should be taken to facilitate this kind of transport, such as making better coordination among border officials of countries, as well as reducing physical checks.
