Speaking to IRNA on the sidelines of the 24th Iran Media Expo in Tehran on Tuesday, Khalil said he believes that solidarity with the Palestinian people and condemnation of Israeli crimes are an utter display of human conscience in today's world.
Probably, we see a wider solidarity in Europe and inn the US than the Arab and Islamic world where unfortunately some regimes have placed restriction on the people for expressing their unity with Palestinians, he added.
"But there are cases where governments stand by people showing solidarity with the Palestinian people, and this can be seen in Yemen where millions of people hit the streets every Friday to reaffirm their support for the Palestinian nation", he noted.
Khalil also hailed the Iranian government and people for expressing their support for Palestinians and their cause.
He called the occupation of Palestine and Israeli atrocities as the main reasons behind the growing global support for the people of Gaza, adding that those prevent their people from voicing solidarity with the Palestinians are "the regimes that have normalized relations with the occupying Zionist regime or are in the process of normalization".
Elaborating on the role of the media today, Khalil said they have become the voice of defenseless Palestinians and play an important role in confronting the Israeli regime.
"Media have exposed Israel by portraying the true image of the regime and its crimes in occupied Palestine to all parts of the world", he added.
The Zionist regime is making all its efforts to cover up those crimes with false narratives using own propaganda tools, Khalil emphasized.
The Palestinian journalist stressed that resistance media with their true coverage of incidents, including Israeli atrocities against Palestinians, have become a source of inspiration around the world as people have become fed up with mainstream western media.
