The ambassador made the comment on Saturday as he addressed the unveiling ceremony of the Armenian language copy of the Divane Hafez, a collection of poems by great Iranian poet Hafez.
A large gathering of Iranians, Persian teachers, and scholars were present at the ceremony held at the Blue Mosque in Armenia’s capital Yerevan.
Sobhani described the Armenian people’s interest in Persian culture, literature, and language as a valuable social asset for the people of both Iran and Armenia, adding that Iran is well-known for its culture in the world.
Iran’s Cultural Attaché Mohammad Asadi-Movahed also spoke at the ceremony.
He elaborated on the goals of the Iranian Embassy’s cultural activities in Armenia, noting that the development of cultural and art activities, especially in the field of publishing and books, are the most important plans currently pursued by the cultural section of the Iranian diplomatic mission.
Given the interest and familiarity of the Armenian people with Iranian culture and literature, he added that the Iranian Embassy is ready to provide support for the translation of Iranian books.
