Tehran, IRNA – Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Ali-Akbar Ahmadian and his Russian counterpart Nikolai Patrushev have discussed a wide range of bilateral issues, including security ones.

In a meeting in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, late on Thursday, the two officials held talks on countering terrorism, information security, issues regarding the economic security of Iran and Russia in the midst of Western sanctions on Tehran and Russia, and explored ways for fighting the efforts to intervene in the domestic affairs of the two countries.

They also stressed the need for a new long-term comprehensive agreement for bilateral cooperation in all areas.

Ahmadian arrived in Bishkek earlier on Thursday to attend a meeting of the national security secretaries and advisors of the regional countries about Afghanistan issues.
