Tehran, IRNA – Iran’s Deputy President for Legal Affairs Mohammad Dehqan has said that the country is trying to reach a final demarcation deal with Caspian Sea littoral states so that its share of the Sea can be determined for good.

Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a Cabinet session on Wednesday, Dehqan said that five countries around the Caspian Sea are in general agreement about how to share its resources, but there is a need for the countries to accept a sea baseline based on which Iran can determine its definite share of territorial waters in the Caspian Sea.

He added that accepting the baseline can also help other countries around the sea to determine their share of territorial waters.
