Tehran, IRNA – World Aquatics President Husain Al-Musallam has praised Iranian diving legend Taghi Asgari and picked him as the ambassador of the International Diving Federation.

Asgari, who is 99 years old, performed an honorary dive during the 2024 World Aquatics Championships in Doha and was awarded a gold medal.

He bid farewell to the sport at the age of forty-one after securing the gold medal at the national level.

He attended the Asian Games in New Delhi in 1951 for the first time and won two medals at the competitions.
