According to health officials of the city, an ambulance was sent to Khabbaz’s home in Kashmar following an emergency call, but healthcare personnel’s efforts to save his life did not bear any fruit and he lost his life due to a heart attack.
Khabbaz was born in Kashmar in 1954. He represented the city in four terms of the Iranian Parliament. The politician was governor-general of North Khorasan and Semnan provinces in 2017 and 2018.
Iran’s Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf extended condolences on Khabbaz’s death.
