Tehran, IRNA - Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanaani has condemned the United States’ decision to put Yemen’s Ansarullah movement back on its so-called list of terrorist organizations, saying the move is in line with the US support for the Israeli regime’s genocidal war in the Gaza Strip.

“This unconstructive move by the United States will not have any effect on the resolve of the Yemeni nation to support the oppressed people of Gaza,” Kanaani said on Thursday.

The US State Department on Wednesday re-designated Ansarullah as a terrorist organization amid increased attacks against Israeli-linked ships traversing the Red Sea.

The Yemeni armed forces have vowed that attacks against Israeli ships or those bound to the occupied territories will continue until the war against Palestinians in Gaza is stopped.

Kanaani slammed the US unending support for the Israeli regime as the most important destabilizing factor in the West Asia region.

"If the United States is sincere in expressing concerns about the stability and peace in the region, then it must stop backing the Zionist regime’s war crimes and genocide in Gaza," he noted.
