Tehran, IRNA – Indian Foreign Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar has met with Iran’s top security official as part of his two-day visit to Tehran.

Jaishankar met with Secretary General of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Ali Akbar Ahmadian on Monday.

During the meeting, Ahmadian appreciated India’s stance on condemning terrorist attacks that killed more than 90 people in Iran’s southeastern city of Kerman last week.

In response to Jaishankar’s call for increased political, economic and security cooperation between Iran and India, the SNSC chief said that Tehran is ready for an expansion of bilateral and multilateral relations in the region.

The two sides also emphasized the need for increased cooperation on projects that can facilitate cargo transit projects in the region.
