Islamabad, IRNA – Iran’s Special Representative on Afghanistan Hassan Kazemi Qomi has arrived in Pakistan for talks with the foreign minister and other officials there.

Heading a political delegation, Kazemi Qomi arrived in Islamabad on Sunday night for a visit made at the invitation of Pakistan’s Special Representative on Afghanistan Asif Ali Khan Durrani.

The two are set to discuss relations between Tehran and Islamabad, as well as regional issues.

Kazemi Qomi, who also serves as Iran’s caretaker ambassador to Kabul, is set to meet with Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Jalil Abbas Jilani as well.

In September 2023, Asif Ali Khan Durrani visited Iran for talks on regional issues, especially developments in Afghanistan where the Taliban are in charge of a caretaker government following the US quit from the country in August 2020 after two decades of war.
