Islamabad, IRNA – Pakistan once again announced on Saturday that the country’s navy had not joined a US-coalition against Yemen in the Red Sea to deter attacks on Israeli-linked ships in the strategic waterway.

Any news about Pakistan’s naval ships in international waters and linking it to the American coalition is baseless because Islamabad has responded negatively to Washington's proposal in this regard, the Pakistani media quoted the country's security sources as saying.

Pakistani security sources added that the country will not join any coalition that is opposed to Palestinians and their cause.

Last month, an official source in Pakistan denied any participation in the US-led Joint Operation Unit 153 in the Red Sea or the Gulf of Aden, calling the reports about Pakistan’s military presence in this coalition “baseless”.

The United States has created a naval coalition to counter anti-Israel operations of the Yemeni army in the Red Sea. Over two dozen ships linked to the Zionist regime or those heading to Israeli ports have been targeted in the Red Sea and the Bab al-Mandeb Strait in response to Israeli crimes and genocide in the Gaza Strip.

Over the past couple of days, the US and UK militaries in order to protest Israeli interests, have targeted several areas inside Yemen in violation of the Arab country’s sovereignty and in breach of international law.

However, the Yemeni armed forces have pledged to continue attacking Israeli-bound ships until the Israeli regime stops its genocidal onslaught on Gaza and ends its blockade of the Palestinian coastal sliver.
