In his messages, President Assad also extended his condolences to the people of Iran and wished recovery for those injured in the attacks, SANA news agency reported.
He underlined that such terrorist acts are aimed at making “our people abandon their principles and national interests, and making them unable to defend their country’s sovereignty and dignity.”
Beirut-based Al Mayadeen news network also said that the Syrian president condemned the Kerman attacks and said that such terror incidents, which target civilians, show the extent of the desperation of terrorists and their supporters.
Also on Thursday, Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Jalil Abbas Jilani talked to his Iranian counterpart Hossein Amirabdollahian on the phone, expressing sympathy with the Iranian nation.
Jilani condemned the attacks in Kerman and announced Pakistan’s readiness to offer assistance to the people and government of Iran.
Amirabdollahian thanked his Pakistani counterpart and said that fighting terrorism is a main priority of the governments of both countries.
The top Iranian diplomat stressed that his country remains determined to uproot terrorism through cooperation with other countries.
At least 84 people were killed and 284 injured on Wednesday when two bomb blasts went off ten minutes apart near the burial site of Iran’s top commander General Qassem Soleimani in Kerman, where a large crowd of people had gathered to mark his fourth martyrdom anniversary.
