Tehran, IRNA – Uzbekistan’s Ambassador to Tehran Nasriev Fariddin Badriddinovich has said that his country plans to double the value of its cooperation with Iran in the technology sector this year.

The ambassador said on Thursday that Kazakhstan’s cooperation with Iran in the tech sector was worth at $500 million in 2023, adding that his country plans to increase that number to one billion dollars this year.

He said that textile industry and agriculture are the two fields on which Kazakhstan prefers to have cooperation with Iran.

Badriddinovich was speaking with reporters as he paid a visit to the Iran Lab Expo, the Laboratory Equipment and Chemicals Exhibition being held in Tehran from January 2 to 5.

He said that an Uzbek delegation is now in Iran to visit the exhibition.

The delegation, according to an official from the scientific and technological affairs department of Iran’s Presidency Office, is set to hold a meeting with representatives from 20 Iranian knowledge-based companies.

Mehdi Elyasi also said that Iranian knowledge-based companies are making efforts to boost their capabilities, with 10 percent of them already proved to be capable of exporting their products.
