Tehran, IRNA - Lebanon’s Amal Movement has condemned the assassination of Saleh Al-Arouri, the deputy head of the Political Bureau of Hamas, in an Israeli attack in Beirut, considering it a violation of the Lebanese sovereignty of the country.

Arouri and five other Hamas officials were killed in an Israeli drone strike on Tuesday, the first targetted assassination overseas by the Israeli regime since it launched a devastating war on the Hamas-governed Gaza Strip on October 7.

The Amal Movement said in a statement on Wednesday that this crime reflects the deep impasse and confusion within the Israeli regime.

The political party stressed that the assassination of al-Arouri is a violation of Lebanon’s sovereignty, adding that the international community bears responsibility for this crime and must act promptly to halt the Zionist regime's atrocities.
