Tehran, IRNA – Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian has stressed the need for expanding relations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Republic of Croatia.

Iran’s newly appointed Ambassador to the Republic of Croatia, Saeed Khatibzadeh has held a meeting with Amirabdollahian prior to starting his mission, IRNA reported on Sunday.

In the meeting, the new ambassador elaborated on his plans for promoting cooperation between Tehran and Zagreb during his tenure.

Amirabdollahian referred to the friendly, cultural relations between Iran and Croatia as well as the special status of the Balkan countries in the foreign policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran, stressing the need for further strengthening of relations between the two countries.
