Tehran, IRNA – The spokesman for the commander-in-chief of the Iraqi armed forces has said that several people were injured in a drone attack on a US military base near the Erbil Airport.

According to the Iraqi News Agency, Major General Yahya Rasoul said on Monday night that a suicide drone hit near the Erbil Airport, injuring several people and suspending the activities of the airport.

Earlier, the Islamic Resistance in Iraq announced that it had targeted the US occupation base in the Harir area in Erbil province in a drone strike.

The movement confirmed that the drones hit their designated target.

It also declared that it will continue to attack US occupation bases in Iraq and neighboring Syria.

In support of the Palestinian nation and the people of Gaza, the Islamic Resistance in Iraq has repeatedly targeted US interests in the region with rockets and drones since October 17.

Fully supported by the United States, the Zionist regime waged a war on Gaza on October 7, after the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas carried out a retaliatory operation against the occupying entity.
