Tehran, IRNA -The Russian Foreign Ministry in a statement announced that Mikhail Bogdanov, the special representative of the Russian President for the Middle East and Africa, and Kazem Jalali, the ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Russia, discussed the Gaza Strip and the solution to the Palestinian issue. 

The Russian foreign ministry in this statement that Bogdanov shared information with the Iranian ambassador about the results of the sixth meeting of the Russia-Arab countries cooperation forum, which was held in Morocco on December 20.

Also, a wide range of important regional issues of interest to Russia and Iran, the current situation of the Gaza Strip and the prospect of solving the Palestinian issue in general were at the center of the talks.

In the continuation of this statement, it is stated that the Russian side also emphasized Moscow's principled position regarding the inadmissibility of interfering in the internal affairs of Arab countries and Iran, and emphasized Russia's respect for their sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity.

The Russian Foreign Ministry added that Moscow and Tehran will focus on maintaining active political dialogue and coordinating approaches in favor of peaceful solutions to crises and conflicts in the Middle East.
