Amirabdollahian made the comment on Thursday in Geneva, Switzerland, where he met with Burkina Faso’s Foreign Minister Olivia Rouamba on the sidelines of the Global Refugee Forum that was held a day earlier.
“The Palestinian people have been fighting to free their land from the occupation for years now, and this is a legitimate resistance based on international law and the UN Charter. It is necessary that all countries, while supporting the freedom-seeking struggle of the Palestinian nation, make efforts to stop the Israeli regime’s war crimes against Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank,” the Iranian foreign minister said.
He also elaborated on the Islamic Republic’s diplomatic solution to resolve the Palestinian crisis.
Amirabdollahian and Rouamba discussed relations between Iran and Burkina Faso as well, with the Iranian diplomat voicing his country’s readiness to offer training services in various specialized fields.
Rouamba welcomed Iran’s scientific, as well as technical and education activities in Burkina Faso, describing them as paving the way for further enhancing bilateral cooperation.
