Tehran, IRNA – Commander of Iran’s border guard police Ahmad Ali Goudarzi has said that some 1.4 tons of narcotics were confiscated from smugglers in southeastern province of Sistan-Baluchestan.

The commander said that the seizure of the narcotics happens as the country intensifies campaign against drug trafficking.   

He also noted that the confiscated cargo included 1.1 tons of opium and 300kg of hashish.

One smuggler was also arrested in the police operation, the official said.
