Tehran, IRNA – Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian has emphasized the need to promote bilateral economic and cultural cooperation with Afghanistan.

Iran’s new consul general in Mazar-e-Sharif, Hamidreza Ahmadi, met with Amirabdollahian before his tenure in Afghanistan, IRNA reported on Sunday.

Amirabdollahian highlighted the importance of expanding bilateral economic and cultural interactions and relations between the two neighboring countries.

Ahmadi has held several responsibilities in the Iranian Foreign Ministry embassies in Belgrade, Dublin, and Ivory Coast.
