Tehran, IRNA – The Islamic Republic’s support of Palestine and Gaza which are under attack these days is according to the country’s Constitution, Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi has announced.

President Raisi made the remarks at the second national conference on responsibility for implementation of the Constitution in Tehran on Sunday.

Supporting the oppressed is among the principles of the Islamic Republic Constitution, the president underlined adding that support for Palestine has been the main issue since the 1979 Islamic Revolution in Iran.

Referring to the killing of nearly 6,000 innocent children in Gaza, the president stressed that the fake Zionist regime will be annihilated by divine revenge.

Article 154 of the Islamic Republic Constitution says:

The Islamic Republic of Iran has as its ideal human felicity throughout human society and considers the attainment of independence, freedom, and the rule of justice and truth to be the right of all people of the world. Accordingly, while scrupulously refraining from all forms of interference in the internal affairs of other nations, it supports the just struggles of the freedom fighters against the oppressors in every corner of the globe.
