Tehran, IRNA – According to an online report by The Intercept, multiple “sensitive weapons and equipment” from the United States bases in Iraq and Syria were purloined between 2020 and 2022.

The stolen equipment included drones and targeting sight and launcher units, The Intercept reported on Saturday.

The Intercept had previously reported that a significant amount of military gear, worth a huge sum of dollars, was taken from the US bases in Iraq and Syria during the same period.

The investigators, in their criminal investigations file, stated that “No known US personnel were involved,” and suggested that the thieves could be locals. However, US officials have "failed to respond to any of The Intercept’s questions about weapons thefts in Iraq and Syria.”
