Doha, IRNA – Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian says everyone’s assessment of the Gaza war is that the Israeli regime and the US did not gain anything on the battlefield.

“The losers in the battlefield will also lose in the political field,” Amirabdollahian said in a meeting with Ismail Haniyeh, the head of the political bureau of the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas.

During the meeting, the Iranian foreign minister once again congratulated the Palestinian nation on their resistance and victory against the Zionist regime in the Gaza Strip, saying they managed to secure great achievements against the occupying entity.

“Operation Al-Aqsa Storm shook the world, and although the human losses of the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip are very high, bitter, and unfortunate, the dimensions of the victory and achievement of the Palestinian nation were much bigger,” he said.

According to Amirabdollahian, the surprise operation, launched into the occupied territories on October 7, changed the strategic balances in different dimensions in favor of Palestine and to the detriment of the occupying, criminal Zionist regime.

Haniyeh, for his part, described the US government as the main axis of the Gaza war, saying the US was forced to succumb to the determination of the Palestinian nation despite its initial opposition to the ceasefire.

He also thanked the Islamic Republic of Iran for its special efforts and support in the realization of the temporary ceasefire.

“This is a political victory that was achieved based on the victory of the resistance in the field, and the enemy failed in achieving its goals except for the killing of women and children and citizens and destroying their houses,” he added.
