The figure shows 8.2 percent surge compared to the same period of time in the past year, Iranian Legal Medicine Organization reported cited by the IRNA on Saturday.
According to the report,a total of 10,720 people, including 8,406 men and 2,314 women, were killed over this period.
The provinces of Fars with 861, Sistan and Baluchestan with 797 and Tehran with 763 reported deaths top the list, while Ilam, Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad, and Ardebil provinces each with 110, 122 and 138, respectively represent the lowest road-traffic fatalities in the country.
Also, during the past six months, 201,542 road accident injuries have been reported, said the Iranian Legal Medicine Organization, showing a 3.7 percent increase compared to the same period last year.
