Tehran, IRNA – Iran’s Minister of Industry, Mine, and Trade Abbas Aliabadi has confirmed that Hossein Selahvarzi, the president of Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines, and Agriculture (ICCIMA) has been sacked.

Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, the minister was asked to comment about Hossein Selahvarzi when he said that his opinion is that of the Supreme Supervisory Council which has recently announced the dismissal of Iran Chamber of Commerce president.

In a meeting on October 23, the Supreme Supervisory Council sacked Selahvarzi, arguing that he had taken office in an illegal way.

Selahvarzi had become the president of Iran Chamber of Commerce after a controversial election on June 18.
