- Lackluster Persepolis, Sepahan held as Esteghlal remains on top
Persepolis and Sepahan, the two unbeaten sides in the Persian Gulf Pro League this season, were held to frustrating away draws on Sunday – a major boost for Javad Nekounam’s Esteghlal in what will likely be a three-horse race for the trophy until the end of the campaign. Persepolis dropped points in the domestic league for only the second time since mid-March, playing to a goalless draw at Malavan FC, while Sepahan saw its perfect start to the Iranian top-flight season come to an end after sharing the spoils with Nassaji Mazandaran in a 1-1 stalemate.
- Family Doctor Program in Iran gaining momentum
It’s an ordinary day at the office of a specialist doctor in a major city in Iran. A quick glance around the room reveals many - perhaps even too many - patients patiently waiting for their turn. However, the doctor is yet to arrive. Despite having made prior examination appointments, these patients find themselves waiting, waiting, and waiting some more. Regardless of the doctor’s skill or reputation, it is evident that the system in place is deeply flawed.

- Angels of Gaza
Children in Gaza face an increasingly dire reality that has transformed everyday life into a nightmarish existence. The pervasive lack of access to essential resources, including food, water, fuel, and adequate sanitation, coupled with relentless bombings, has turned their lives into an ongoing battlefield within the besieged territory. Tragically, the number of casualties has surpassed 8,300, with an alarming proportion consisting of innocent children. Israel has launched an extensive media campaign, attempting to dehumanize and justify the brutal killings of Gaza's civilian population. Deliberate targeting of hospitals, schools, mosques, churches, and other places of shelter persists as the world bears witness with eyes wide open.

Hossein Amirabdollahian, Iran’s Foreign Minister, has warned that if the United States continues to back Israel in its “war crimes” and “genocide” against the Palestinian people in Gaza, the opening of new battlefronts will be “unavoidable”. Amirabdollahian said in an interview with Bloomberg Television on Saturday that the United States’ unwavering backing for Israel has exacerbated the regime’s assault against the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas and the slaughter of civilians, particularly women and children.

- US priority shifts to Israel from Ukraine
Newly elected House Speaker Mike Johnson said that a stand-alone bill to provide Israel with billions more in military aid will be brought to the House floor this week instead of President Biden’s $105 billion request that also includes spending for Ukraine, Taiwan, and the border. “We’re going to move a stand-alone Israel funding bill this week in the House. I know our colleagues, our Republican colleagues in the Senate, have a similar measure,” Johnson said on Fox News’ “Sunday Morning Futures,” according to The Hill.
