Amirabdollahian will begin his trip on Tuesday, according to the Persian service of IRNA.
Addressing a UN General Assembly emergency meeting on Gaza last week, the Iranian foreign minister announced his country’s readiness to play a role alongside Turkiye and Qatar in releasing civilian captives held by Hamas following the Palestinian resistance movement’s Operation Al-Aqsa Storm on October 7.
Nearly a week after the Gaza war broke out on October 7, Amirabdollahian visited Iraq, took a regional tour of four countries namely Iraq, Syria, Qatar and Lebanon for discussions focusing on the Gaza war.
The tours are part of Iran’s diplomatic efforts aimed at helping the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip where the Israeli regime has been constantly conducting airstrikes since October 7 and has in recent days expanded its ground operations.
