11 trucks carrying aid to Afghanistan entered the country from Dogharoun border crossing in northeastern province of Khorasan Razavi on Monday, Mohsen Zakerian, the director of the local branch of Iran’s Red Crescent Society in the province said.
He said that the cargo was the sixth such cargo of Iranian aid to the quake-hit people in Herat Province of Afghanistan.
The official added that the cargo included 250 tons of different goods such as rice, edible oil, canned food, blankets, detergents, carpets and health items.
A series of earthquakes, the most powerful of which measured 6.5 degrees on the Richter scale, hit north of Herat Province on October 7, leaving more than 2,000 people dead.
