Tehran, IRNA – The Times of Israel has cautioned if shipping companies come to the conclusion that ports of the Israeli regime are perilous, the regime may face food shortages in the future.

According to the Times of Israel newspaper, one of the main shipping companies of Taiwan announced a force-majeure situation last week following the current war between Israeli forces and the Palestinian Hamas Resistance Movement.

The Taiwanese company cancelled a planned stop of one of its vessels at the Ashdod port, citing the “persisting unsafe situation".

With bombs and missiles suddenly flying through the skies of Gaza and south of the occupied land, Evergreen Line decided it was no longer safe for the Ever Cozy to call Ashdod, the newspaper reported.

Ashdod Port, located a mere 25 miles from Tel Aviv, is a crucial maritime gateway for all manner of goods traveling to and from the Israeli regime.

The Times of Israel also warned that other shipping lines and their insurers are also reviewing the advisability of calling Israeli ports right now due to the conflict.

Neil Roberts, a secretary of the Joint War Committee, a maritime body that classifies international waters according to risk, said that nobody wants to go into a port and not be able to get out, as happened in Ukraine.
