Tehran, IRNA - Iran's First Vice President Mohammad Mokhber has left Tehran for Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan, to participate in the 22nd meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member states.

Mokhber spoke to reporters before his departure on Wednesday, emphasizing the shared goals and perspectives between Iran and other member nations of the SCO, a powerful regional alliance to which Iran gained full membership back in July.

He said member states shared a commitment to promote a multi-polar international order, resist against US sanctions, and expand political and economic relations.

Mokhber expressed optimism about the potential for mutual cooperation in various fields during his visit to Kyrgyzstan, given Iran’s abundant capabilities in industry, agriculture, advanced technologies, and energy.

Discussions on multilateral trade and economic cooperation between member states are set to be pivotal topics during this round of the SCO summit.

Furthermore, the signing of final documents, the approval of the organization's budget for 2024, and matters related to the financial and organizational activities of permanent members of the SCO will be addressed during the sessions.

Also on the agenda are proposals for the expansion of rail activities, the development of an energy framework, and the creation of digital trade platforms among member states.
