Iran’s gas industry needs $25 billion in investments, which is not included in the draft bill of the Seventh Five-Year Development Plan that has been submitted to Parliament, said an MP.
Ebrahim Najafi, a member of the Civil Committee of the Parliament of Iran, told Mehr news agency that the country’s energy imbalance has not been addressed by the government plans for the next five years.
-- Employment rises in Iran with economic growth: Minister
Iran’s minister of economic affairs and finance on Tuesday said one of the advantages of economic growth in the last two years is that it has been accompanied by an increase in employment.
Speaking in a weekly press conference, Ehsan Khandouzi added that according to the latest report by the Statistical Centre of Iran, 907,000 people have been added to the country’s workforce in the year to September 22.

The Iranian film ‘Seven Citrus Aurantium,’ directed by Farshad Golsefidi, is slated to compete at the 22nd edition of the Dhaka International Film Festival's Competition Section for Spiritual Films, taking place in the capital of Bangladesh, from January 20 to January 28.
According to ILNA, this cinematic work marks Golsefidi’s directorial debut, offering a poetic narrative of the life and sacrifices of a solitary and selfless old man on a spiritual journey of love.

-- Islamic Calligraphy From Around World on Display
Calligraphic works by artists from around the globe can be viewed throughout Dubai in the city’s first ever calligraphy biennale. Staged by the Dubai Culture and Arts, it runs until Oct. 31 and celebrates the art form’s diverse beauty and varieties of calligraphy from across the world.
The biennale makes use of venues across the city of Dubai so that local residents and visitors can view calligraphic art in its various traditional and contemporary renditions.

The book “Data Science: A Quick Guide to the Modern Data Governance” has been published by Iranian authors. The book is authored by Hemed Kioumarsi and Marzieh Alidoust, and edited by Samuel C. Allen.
Kioumarsi is a researcher at the Agricultural Research, Education and Extension Organization of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s Ministry of Agriculture.
-- President: Iran Seeks Enhanced Ties With Thailand, Slovenia
President Ebrahim Raisi on Tuesday received the credentials of new ambassadors from Thailand and Slovenia in separate ceremonies in Tehran, underlining Iran’s friendly relations with those countries while calling for efforts to further expand bilateral ties.
While receiving the credentials of Pichit Boonsud, Thailand’s new ambassador, President Raisi described the relations between the two countries in friendly terms. He emphasized that efforts were required to elevate the level of bilateral relations further, expressing hope that the new ambassador would work towards enhancing the friendly relations between the two nations.

-- Iran’s athlete Zare wins gold at Hangzhou 2022
Alireza Zare won a gold medal in the Men's 200m-T35 of the 2022 Asian Para Games on Wednesday. He finished first with a time of 25.51 seconds, followed by Iraqi runner Idrees Al-Zaidi (26.54) and India’s Narayan Thakur (29.83).
A total of 128 male athletes represent Iran in 16 events and 82 female athletes compete in 11 events.
-- Iran's sponge iron export increases 180%
The export of Iran’s sponge iron increased by 180 percent during the first six months of the current Iranian calendar year (March 21-September 22), as compared to the same period of time in the past year, the Iranian Steel Producers Association (ISPA) announced.
As reported, 874,000 tons of the product was exported in the six-month period of this year, while the figure was 312,000 tons in the same time span of the previous year.
-- Iran, Turkmenistan to hold tourism event in Ashgabat
Iran and Turkmenistan will hold a joint event in Ashgabat to promote tourism, cultural heritage, and handicrafts. A new chapter in Iran-Turkmenistan relations started to develop, especially in the cultural field after presidents of the two neighboring countries met in Ashgabat last year, CHTN quoted Iran’s cultural attaché in Ashgabat as saying on Monday.
Since then, many cultural events have been arranged, one of which is a three-day tourism event scheduled to be held from October 31 to November 2 in Turkmenistan’s capital, Navid Rasuli said.
