Tehran, IRNA – The Iranian ambassador to Russia has said that consultations about strengthening stability, peace and security in the Caucasus region will be high on the agenda of the 3+3 ministerial meeting planned to be held in Tehran.

The regional questions can be solved through interactions between the regional countries and without interference of foreigners, Kazem Jalali said in a post on social media, according to an IRNA report on Monday. 

The meeting will be a venue for exchanging views about developments in the , he said.

The 3+3 format includes Iran, Russia, Turkey, Georgia, Azerbaijan and Armenia. It seeks to find a permanent solution to disputes between Azerbaijan and Armenia and strengthen stability in the Caucasus region. 

A first edition of the meeting was held in Moscow last year at the level of deputy foreign ministers without the presence of Georgia.
