Tehran, IRNA – In a recent meeting with his Kuwaiti counterpart, Iranian Minister of Foreign Affairs Hossein Amirabdollahian emphasized the need to halt the brutal attacks by the Zionist regime on the Gaza Strip.

Amirabdollahian and Sheikh Salem Abdullah Al-Jaber Al-Sabah held their meeting on Wednesday on the sideline of the urgent meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

Expressing satisfaction over the meeting, Amirabdollahian urged the member states attending the OIC meeting to take a strong decision in support of the Palestinian movement and the oppressed Palestinian people in Gaza.

Thanking Kuwait for its strong position in supporting Palestine since the beginning of the current developments, the Iranian Foreign Minister said that the Zionist regime’s attacks against the Gaza Strip should be stopped immediately and humanitarian aid should be sent to the region immediately.

The Kuwaiti Foreign Minister for his part, emphasized his country’s strong support for Palestine. Sheikh Salem Abdullah Al-Jaber Al-Sabah said that the increasing scope of this clash is a great danger for the entire region.

He added that Kuwait emphasizes the necessity of stopping the war and immediately starting the sending of humanitarian aid.

Amirabdollahian arrived in Saudi Arabia’s port city of Jeddah at the head of a high-ranking delegation on Tuesday evening.

Holding this urgent meeting to review the recent developments in Palestine is considered a diplomatic achievement for the Islamic Republic of Iran.
