Tehran, IRNA – Iran’s petrochemical companies produced 38.5 million metric tons (mt) of products in the first half of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2023 to September 22, 2023), indicating a 7% growth in comparison to the same period in 2022, an Iranian official said.

Production control manager of Iran’s National Petrochemical Company Bijan Chegeni said on Tuesday that the Iranian petrochemical companies plan to produce about 77 million mt of petrochemical products in the current Iranian year (March 21, 2023 to March 19, 2024).

According to the official, production of petrochemical products in the last Iranian year (March 21, 2022 to March 20, 2023) experienced a 7% growth in comparison to the previous year, when the production of petrochemical products stood at 69.6 million mt.

Chegeni went on to say that the Islamic Republic exported 27.6 million mt of petrochemical products in the last calendar year, and that the export volume increased 6% in terms of weight compared to the previous Iranian year (March 21, 2021 to March 20, 2022).
