Tehran, IRNA – Iranian Minister of Foreign Affairs Hossein Amirabdollahian has stated that the progressing relations between Tehran and Riyadh should not be influenced by sports politics.

He made these comments while addressing the issues related to the Al-Ittihad-Sepahan game, urging the Asian Football Confederation to handle the matter technically. He also emphasized that there is an agreement for the game to be held at a mutually agreed time.

US’s Stance on JCPOA

In response to the US’s announcement of its reluctance to return to the JCPOA, Amirabdollahian said that the American officials are behaving hypocritically. He also affirmed Iran’s commitment to diplomacy and negotiation, promising updates as they approach an agreement.

Visa Waiver for Tourists

Amirabdollahian also touched on the visa waiver regime for tourists, adding that Iran has already lifted visas for tourism with numerous countries.

The Minister of Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism has announced a new list of countries for which they are negotiating visa cancellations for tourists, he said.
