Tehran, IRNA – Matin Rezaei, Melika Mirhosseini, and Mehran Barkhordari have snatched bronze medals in the taekwondo competitions of the Hangzhou Asian Games.

Iran’s taekwondoka Rezaei, fell short against Jordanian opponent in the men's -68 kg weight class on Wednesday at the semi-final stage of taekwondo competitions in the Asian Games.

Melika Mirhosseini, another Iran’s taekwondo fighter in the women's -67 kg class, the semi-final stage, lost the game against Uzbekistan opponent.

Mehran Barkhordari, other Iran’s taekwondo fighter in the men's -80, snatched the fifth taekwondo medal in the Asian Games, defeating his South Korean rival.

The 2022 Asian Games also known as Hangzhou 2022 is a continental multi-sport event currently being held from 23 September to 8 October 2023 in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, China.

Iran has sent 289 male and female athletes to the Games in 34 sports divisions.
