Tehran, IRNA – Iran’s Greco-Roman wrestling team has secured the runner-up position after Azerbaijan in the 2023 World Wrestling Championships being held in Belgrade, Serbia.

The Greco-Roman wrestling competitions kicked off on Thursday in Belgrade and will conclude on Sunday night.

The Iranian national Greco-Roman team has showcased exceptional performance during the matches, clinching one gold medal, one silver, and two bronzes, accumulating a total of 87 points.

Despite leading Azerbaijani wrestlers in first place with 17 points, the Iranian team has almost no chance of winning the championship title considering the performance of Greco-Roman wrestlers in the lower-weight categories.
