New York, IRNA – Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian says the Zionist regime is plagued by multi-layered internal crises and no one takes the anti-Iran threats by the regime’s prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu seriously.

“It was interesting to me that officials from different countries who attended the [UN] General Assembly session referred to Netanyahu’s behavior as a joke,” Amirabdollahian said on the sidelines of the 78th session of the UN General Assembly in New York on Sunday.

He further quoted one of those officials as saying that Netanyahu “brings his childhood drawings here” to show at the session.

The Iranian foreign minister also said the illegitimate Zionist regime and its premier are not capable of implementing their anti-Iran threats.

“If they were able to do something, they would not use this rhetoric and method. Today, they are caught up in multi-layered crises inside the occupied territories,” he added.

During his speech at the UN General Assembly session on Friday, Netanyahu warned about the “curse of a nuclear Iran” and accused Tehran of spending “billions to arm its terror proxies.”

“Iran must face a credible nuclear threat. As long as I’m prime minister of Israel, I will do everything in my power to prevent Iran from getting nuclear weapons,” he said.

Iran’s diplomatic delegation at the UN said on Saturday that the Israeli prime minister’s speech was like a “comedy show”.

“The baseless allegations made by Israeli officials no longer fool anyone,” the mission said.
